Mum on €28k drugs charge

A YOUNG mother charged with drugs offences after over €28,000 worth of cannabis herb was found in her home has been remanded on continuing bail.

Carmel Murphy (27) was allegedly found with the drug after detectives searched a house in Clonee, west Dublin.

Judge David McHugh adjourned the matter for four weeks for DPP's directions on the charges.

Murphy appeared before Blanchardstown District Court. The alleged incident took place at her home at Deerhaven Close in Clonee on November 17.

Worker's tax form from hell

A Tennessee maintenance worker says he quit his job because his tax form was stamped with the number 666.

Walter Slonopas (52) said accepting the number would have condemned his soul to hell. That number is considered the "mark of the beast" in the Bible's Book of Revelation describing the apocalypse.

The company wants to rehire Mr Slonopas, but he says "God is worth more than money".

Man in court over stimulants

A WEST Dublin man has appeared in court accused of possession of a stimulant drug for sale or supply at his home.

Aaron Else (27) had the case against him adjourned at Blanchardstown District Court.

Else, of Cherrywood Crescent, Nangor Road, Clondalkin, is charged with possession of PVP at his home on February 20, 2012.
