Motorist accused of high speed car chase
A DRIVER accused of leading gardai on a high speed chase across west Dublin and along the M50 motorway has been sent forward for trial.
Edward Connors (37) allegedly failed to stop for gardai in Tallaght and then lead them northbound along the M50, where he drove in excess of the 100kph speed limit.
He is facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.
The defendant, of Langton Park in Newbridge, Co Kildare, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with endangerment on March 2.
Connors is also charged with failing to stop a vehicle at Whitestown Way in Tallaght on the same date, and with dangerous driving at a number of west Dublin locations.
He is further charged with driving without insurance or a driving licence.
