Morris's Hurl earns a shot for glory at Cheltenham

The Hurl has earned a crack at the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival after his hard-fought victory at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Mouse Morris' seven-year-old was winning his third race of the season, having also finished third at Grade One level behind Shinrock Paddy at Navan.

Being a son of Supreme Leader, Morris is convinced The Hurl will improve when he finally tackles better ground.

"There's not a bother on him," said Morris.

"I think he's right up there with the staying hurdlers over here, there's probably only Shinrock Paddy above him."

Mor 'a possibility' for Irish Arkle tilt

Henry de Bromhead will wait until later in the week before deciding whether to let Sunday's Fairyhouse winner An Cathaoir Mor turn out again for the Irish Arkle at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The seven-year-old has made a fine start to his career over fences, turning in placed efforts behind River Liane and Captain Cee Bee before beating Nicanor and Cousin Vinny at the weekend.

"We'll think about the Irish Arkle in the next few days and there is a possibility he will go there," said De Bromhead.

McCoy in running for Lesters double

The nominations for the Shadwell 20th Lesters have been revealed, with Tony McCoy in the running for two awards. McCoy could add two more Lesters to his current haul of 14 after being nominated for Jump Ride of the Year on Wichita Lineman at the Cheltenham Festival, as well as Jump Jockey of the Year.

The Lesters celebrate the achievements of British and overseas jockeys.
