MetLife keeps growing
EXPANSION
METLife has expanded its Dublin staff numbers from 10 in 2006 to more than 260.
The company, which specialises in life insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management, has employees in the areas of actuarial, financial, compliance, risk and legal.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny (above) marked the significant expansion of MetLife's operation in Hatch Street, Dublin, yesterday morning.
Founded in 1868, MetLife is home to some 20 nationalities with several languages spoken across the five floors.
Dirk Ostijn, CEO of MetLife Europe Ltd, said Dublin was an obvious choice.
"Its reputation as a thriving, cosmopolitan city plus its location as a gateway into the European market played an important role in our choice to locate our expanding operations here in Ireland," said Mr Ostijn.
"So we are a great example of a vibrant and diverse corporate."
