RANGERS manager Ally McCoist has hailed the impact made by Irish striker Jonathan Daly since his move to the Ibrox club.
Dubliner Daly scored for the Gers in Monday's 3-0 win over Arbroath, his 17th goal of the season so far and it is the seventh game in a row where the 30-year-old has scored, a record that even McCoist in his impressive playing career could not match.
"It's an amazing achievement. It doesn't matter the league or the opposition, because that record is fantastic," said McCoist.
"We are playing sides who make it very, very difficult for you. That Arbroath team got a draw at Celtic Park, only lost the replay 1-0, and played really well for 75 minutes at Ibrox this year. So these are tough places to come, no matter what people think.
"For Jon to continue that scoring rate, scoring in consecutive games, is a terrific achievement.
"I don't think I had a run like that. I did get one or two more than him, right enough, but I can't remember scoring in seven straight games."
Daly, a product of Cherry Orchard, joined Rangers in the summer after a successful spell with Dundee United and he has become an instant hit at Ibrox. Daly was capped ten times at U21 level.
