DAVINA McCall has led tributes following the death of former Big Brother contestant Sophia Brown.

The British banking assistant, who took part in the series in 2009 alongside Sophie Reade and Karly Ashworth, died aged 30.

She had suffered from Lupus, and her family said her death was connected to the condition.

Ex-Big Brother host McCall wrote on Twitter: "That's really sad. My thoughts are with her family." Many of her former housemates also posted tributes on Twitter, with Reade writing: "Devastated to hear the news about Sophia.

"Such an amazing lady and a pleasure to know her."

Ashworth wrote: "Such sad news. My thoughts are with her family and friends."

Marcus Bentley, the voice of Big Brother, said: "Such very sad news about BB 10 housemate Sophia Brown -- God bless Sophia."

Sophia was evicted from Big Brother after just nine days in the house.

Her family said today that she died on May 10.
