Man stable after knife attack in early hours
A MAN is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed numerous times in a vicious attack early this morning.
The victim, who is in his 30s, was discovered at around 2.45am with a number of stab wounds at Pace Road, Littlepace, in Clonee.
Emergency services personnel were sent to the scene and the man was treated on the road before being moved by ambulance to Connolly Hospital.
Gardai have described the assault as serious, and added that the man was this morning in a stable condition.
It is understood that the victim is a taxi driver, but was not working at the time of the attack.
It is not thought his job was in any way connected to the incident.

As part of their follow-up investigations, gardai arrested a 32-year-old man at a house in Latchford Park a short time later.
The address is around 5km from where the victim was discovered.
The scene was preserved for a technical an forensic examination and gardai said that enquiries are ongoing.
The suspect was detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He can be held for a total of 24 hours of questioning under the provisions of the act.
Gardai have not at this stage released an official witness appeal.
