A man is facing trial on drugs charges following the seizure of an estimated €400,000 worth of cannabis in west Dublin.

Ronald Flynn (53) had the case against him adjourned for the preparation of a book of evidence when he appeared before Blanchardstown District Court.

Flynn is charged with possession of cannabis as well as having the drug for sale or supply.

The incident allegedly took place at Citywest Avenue, Citywest Business Park, on November 19 last.

bail

A state solicitor said that the DPP has directed trial on indictment in the circuit court on the charges.

Gardai previously alleged that the estimated street value of the cannabis was €400,000.

Judge David McHugh remanded Flynn on continuing bail to a date in September for the service of the book of evidence.

As part of his bail conditions, Flynn, with an address at Hill View, Mount Prospect, Mount Nugent, Co Cavan, must reside at his home and sign on at his local garda station.

He has also surrendered his passport and supplied a mobile phone number to gardai so he can be contacted by them.
