Love/Hate's Nidge is back from the dead to cheer on Ed Sheeran at Wembley

Irish actor Tom Vaughan- Lawlor, who plays the scheming drug lord in the gritty RTE drama, came face to face with the flame-haired singer (24) at his Sunday Wembley gig.

Although the series finale of the latest season of Love/Hate saw Nidge apparently bumped off, the Dublin actor (38) brought back the beloved character as he filmed a hilarious video with the musician.

"Alright man, here with the main man Ed, about to go out and watch him on the show, can't wait for it," Lawlor said to the camera in Nidge's thick Dublin accent.

"Nidgey, I have a bone to pick with him," Sheeran replied.

The singer-songwriter uploaded the video to his Instagram account where it was 'liked' by over 216,000 fans.

The joke was lost on some of Ed's foreign fans, who questioned what language the actor was speaking, while his Irish followers were united in their praise.

"Two legends," some commentators wrote, while others suggested the chart-topper should have a part in future seasons of Love/Hate.

The Irish star was just one of a number of famous faces who turned out to support Sheeran as he played three sold-out dates at the iconic London stadium over the weekend.

Music legend Elton John joined the redheaded crooner on stage as he serenaded fans, while rapper Example was also on hand backstage to cheer Ed on.

The Thinking Out Loud singer is set to come to Dublin later this month to play two sell out gigs in Croke Park.

Along with his surprising friendship with Nidge, Ed has been rumoured to be getting close to an Irish reality star.

Dating

Recently, it was reported that Ed was dating former Fade Street cast member and long term pal Louise Johnston.

"Louise and Ed have been friends for years, but now they have become a lot closer than that," a source said. "They are constantly in touch, even when he is on his world tour, but he is coming here soon for a gig in Dublin and they will be able to catch up.

"Friends and family now know so it really is out there. Louise really cares about him and it's going very well," they added. The Dubliner has stayed out of the limelight since her stint on the popular RTE show, now working as a brand and events manager for website Lovin Dublin.

"The fact that Louise isn't a big star is helping things move along nicely and she is different to some of the girls he has been linked to," they said.
