Looking for a heavenly pint . . .
Gerry O'Carroll
DOES heaven exist, people often wonder....Oh yes, it does.
And it's on Fleet Street in Dublin. It's called the Palace.
A sneaky afternoon pint and copy of the Herald in its divine surroundings is heaven to me. Throw in some conversation with owners Liam and Willie Ahern and I'm made up.
Today a commemorative plaque to Flann O'Brien, Patrick Kavanagh and Brendan Behan were unveiled at the great literary pub. I was happiest to see the fourth writer recognised was living legend and Castleisland man Con Houlihan.
Cheers Con.
