Lisa's beauty salon has a new owner
REALITY star Lisa Murphy may be looking for another venture.
A new business has moved into the premises of her former beauty salon, New Lisa Life.
The Sandycove spa spot, run by the blonde fiancee of celebrity solicitor Gerald Kean, first opened its doors for business six years ago and catered to the rich and famous of south Co Dublin.
RTE star Mike Murphy's daughter Dee is now operating Sankara Beauty, which offers face and body treatments, at the address.
It has been reported that the last accounts posted for Murphy's company on April 6 show the salon had losses of €188,691.
The Herald tried to contact both her and Kean about the changeover last night, but neither responded.
Dee said of her new venture: "We have just opened and we are sure that it will take off - we have lots of ideas. Lisa and Gerald aren't here any more. It's a new business with a new name."
unpaid
The salon was closed during June for renovations, and the staff who previously worked for Michael Flatley's ex Murphy were kept on by Sankara.
Last year, New Lisa Life was hit with a judgement for €9,880 by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for unpaid rates.
At the time, Kean said he became aware of the issue the previous day and asked his accountant to deal with it.
"I am not involved in the day-to-day running of the business," he said. "I have always financially supported Lisa and the salon and it has required considerable investment over the years, which I have supported.
"And I will continue to financially support it.
"As soon as I heard about the judgement I told the accountant to deal with it. I will, again, give the financial assistance required to keep the business going forward. When I give a commitment I see it through."
Murphy and Kean are said to be planning to get married.
