THINK white jeans and most of us picture eurotrash ladies-who-lunch – and Liz Hurley.

But this week, Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her trimmed and toned physique in a pair of gleaming white jeans.

And now it looks as if the hard-to-wear trend is back with a bang.

Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr can't get enough of them, and Pippa Middleton is also a big fan.

They can be a tricky trend to nail – unless you have legs that go on for days.

Dublin-based stylist Helen Egan says that, if styled right, we can capture the look.

"White jeans are back with a bang," Helen told the Herald. "It's summer, and everyone wants a look that's fresh and bright. When they're worn right, they look fab."

When working the trend, it's all about cut and quality.

"You have to be very careful with white jeans," Helen says. "They show up everything and can make your bum look bigger.

Sausages

"Dark jeans make legs look slimmer and longer, so when you're going for bright whites you have to splash a bit more cash."

Tight white skinny jeans can make Irish legs look a bit like sausages, so Helen advises going for a gentle flare.

"Models can get away with the skinnies; for the rest of us I would recommend a boot-cut," she says.
