Rosanna laughs off 'war of words' over cookery books

Rosanna Davison has insisted there won't be a battle of the wooden spoons between her and other models-turned-chefs when her new cookbook is released.

The former Miss World is due to release Eat Yourself Beautiful in the autumn.

Vegan Rosanna said she is open to TV opportunities to coincide with the release of the book.

"I would definitely consider a cookery show. I love being able to inspire people to make simple changes to their diet and improve their health at the same time," she said.

"It's about making tasty, simple, nutritious food accessible for everyone."

The news that the fitness fan is due to release a book comes as fellow model Roz Purcell said she also hoped to release a healthy eating book.

But Rosanna appears unfazed by the news that she could be facing some competition because, she said, she is the only food writer who has both a qualification in nutrition and a world title.

She said she isn't interested in competing with other models, telling the Herald that it is a "shame" to have people pitting her against another woman.


"It's a shame for women to be compared to each other in any industry and it does nobody any favours," she said.

"We're all individuals just trying to get on with our lives, develop our skills and build our careers.

"The only person I'm interested in competing with is the person I was last week, last month or last year. It's about working hard to be the best version of myself."

Rosanna (30) is hoping to cast a wide net in terms of who her book is aimed at.

She has been a vegan for several years, but her book won't be limited to just veggie recipes.

"It's aimed at people interested in health and fitness and complete beginners. It caters to people of all ages, tastes and budgets and both vegetarians and meat-eaters," she said.

Writing a cookbook has been a dream of Rosanna's since she was a teenager.

"Really since I developed an interest in plant-based nutrition when I was young, as I had to learn to cook for myself," she said.
