My perfect weekend

On Friday night I'd: Once every six weeks the girls meet up for a supper club which I set up about two years ago. It's like a book club only we choose a cookbook or a cookery theme and everyone makes something to bring along. It's great fun and can sometimes be a bit competitive.

My favourite stiff drink is: Hendrick's gin, cucumber, lots of ice and a little tonic (slimline, of course!).

Saturday morning lie-on or gym session: I Iike to get to the gym on a Saturday morning and feel semi-virtuous at the start of the weekend. It doesn't always work that way.

My favourite item of clothing is: I love my new J Brand black skinnies which I bought for a steal on www. theoutnet.com. I love a bargain and got them for less than half price. I'm particularly fond of a pair of Alexander McQueen gold studded nude shoes which I got in the sale in Harvey Nichols for about a third of their original price. They are too big but nothing a few insoles don't fix!

My Saturday night fever: Usually revolves around the three Ds -- dinner, drinks and dancing. I love catching up with friends in town over dinner and wine and then usually when we know we should be going home we end up popping in somewhere for a quick cocktail and a dance. I am a real night owl and I pay the price on Sunday morning.

My favourite hangover cure: Sleep, pints of strong tea and carbs! A good walk down Dun Laoghaire pier always blows the cobwebs away and later getting spoiled by my folks with a traditional roast dinner.

On Sunday I rest by: We make pancakes with the children on Sunday mornings. We also love having lots of coffee and reading the papers.

I'm currently reading: I find it hard to get time to read, although I used to be a big reader. Now I find myself flicking through Twitter and reading everything in 140 characters! I've just finished Race of a Lifetime by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann about Barack Obama's race to the White House in 2008.

My last supper: Spicy Chicken Karahi, with hot buttered naan straight from the tandoor and some sautéed broccoli with cumin, followed by some quality Irish farmhouse ice-cream. Perfect!
