Hard work behind scenes to make run a big success

Dublin City Council helps to support the Flora Women's Mini Marathon organisers to deliver one of the largest sporting events in the city.

The event brings 40,000 participants and their supporters into the city centre every year on the June Bank Holiday Monday.

It has been one of the major city events in the calendar since 1983. It is the biggest all-women's event of its kind in the world.

The event affords a great opportunity for many charities to raise much-needed funds for their various organisations.

The event also encourages an active and healthy lifestyle for all which Dublin City Council would be keen to promote and support.

Great credit must go to the organisers who work closely with Dublin City Council and all the statutory agencies, such as An Garda Siochana, Dublin Bus, HSE, Luas/Veolia Transport, and business groups, for helping to make this event a success for everyone.
