Talk about a celebrity endorsement being good for business.

Dubliner Marissa Carter - creator of Cocoa Brown Tan - has revealed that her product sold out in the US in just 24 hours after Kylie Jenner revealed she was a fan.

The 17-year-old reality TV star posted a picture of her with the bright pink bottles of tan on Sunday evening - and Marissa said sales have gone through the roof since.

"It's been insane since she posted the picture. It sold out in the US within 24 hours," she said.

"I had an email from the managing director of Ricky's [a chain of beauty stores] saying 'How fast can you get more tan to us?'

"It's what they call the 'Kardashian effect'. It's been one of the top stories in the US.

"It was on MTV in Australia and it was on E! News in the States last night," she told the Nicky Byrne Show on 2fm.

Kylie isn't the first celebrity fan of the product, with Millie Mackintosh regularly posting how great she thinks it is.

Mum-of-two Marissa's tanning products are stocked in more than 5,000 stores worldwide.
