She's one of Ireland's most successful models, but Holly Carpenter has revealed she'd love to make it in television.

Even though the former Miss Ireland (23) loves her job, she admitted that she's always had her eye on a move into presenting.

After taking courses to boost her confidence, the beauty queen is more eager than ever to make it on screen.

"I love TV work. I did a short acting course in the Gaiety and a presenting course too, just to break down some barriers, because I used to get quite shy on camera," she told the Herald.

"Now, when I do the fashion slots on Xpose and Ireland AM, even though it's still modelling, it's about getting used to being around cameras and I'm definitely more comfortable with it now," she added.

The brunette beauty admitted she enjoys the buzz of filming without having to worry about getting older, as is the case with modelling.

"TV is very exciting and it has a great atmosphere, it's definitely something that I'd like to get into," she said.

"Plus, it doesn't have as much of a shelf life as modelling," she added.

The Dublin native has been announced as the face of Lauryn Rose jewellery, who have pledged to donate 10pc of every online purchase to the Laura Lynn's Children's Hospice.

"It's such a great cause," Holly said. "If you're treating yourself, it's nice to know you'll be giving back too."
