Do you go to the gym or classes?

I don’t go to the gym, but I walk almost everywhere as I work in town. I am also a big fan of the Dublin city bikes — such a great idea.

Do you take vitamins or supplements?

I do take vitamins occasionally, but I think it’s better to try to get all your vitamins from a balanced diet.

Have you ever been in hospital?

When I was about seven years old I went to get stitches beside my right eye — I had been swinging from the curtains!

What was your worst illness?

I have been very fortunate, but I do get the odd migraine.

What is your favourite cure?

Nothing like a cup of tea or a good 12-hour sleep!

Would you get your five a day?

I try to, and I’m definitely improving with age.

Any vices?

I have a rather large sweet tooth and I can’t say no to a bag of Tayto! I also drink way too much coffee. Actually this list could go on for ever . . .

Ever dieted?

Yes, but always pretty poor attempts. What works best for me is to cut out the sweets (the hardest bit) and watch my portion size.

Any family ailments?

No, not really.

How many hours sleep do you get a night?

Not enough! Any one who knows me knows I like my sleep and also knows I am not much of a morning person! I can’t function without at least eight hours, but regularly get 10 to 12 hours!

Do you have any health goals?

To get in shape. I have a friend’s wedding in Italy this summer and the thought of getting into a bikini is a little scary, so I have three months to get fit.

Do you smoke or have you ever smoked?

No. I think it’s a terrible habit.

What is your favourite leisure activity?

I have recently moved to Sandymount and I love going for walks along Sandymount Strand. Considering I grew up in Roscommon, the sea on my door step is a bit of a novelty. I can’t get enough of it!
