my health

What was the last thing you ate?

Homemade vegetable stir-fry with cashew and sesame seeds. Yummy!

Do you go to the gym or classes?

I take dance classes, it's a great way to keep fit and have fun. But actually I'm more of an outdoor girl, all things considered -- I love walking my dog and jogging. I also swim occasionally.

Do you take vitamins or supplements?

Yes, I take Vitamin C and if I'm spending long hours in the studio I take Berocca to keep me going.

What foods always go in your shopping trolley?

Chocolate, milk and cereal.

Have you ever been in hospital?

As a child I suffered with very bad asthma and was admitted to hospital once to help me with my breathing. I was very sporty in school so had a few hockey injuries too.

What was your worst illness?

The only illness I ever really had was asthma that I had to take regular medication for, but luckily I grew out of it. I think the singing helped.

What is your favourite cure?

Manuka honey, lemon and hot water. Always a must before performances.

Would you get your five a day?

Maybe three a day... I love fruit and fresh vegetables but I don't always get the chance to eat them with my busy schedule .

What is your favourite meal to cook?

Goat's cheese and sun-dried tomatoes wrapped in filo pastry with rocket salad. Delish.

Any vices?

No, but I do like the occasional glass of wine or cider.

Ever dieted?

I don't believe diets work, it's all about eating in moderation and getting daily exercise.

Any family ailments?

Nope, we're all a fairly healthy bunch, luckily.

How many hours sleep do you get a night?

I aim to get eight hours sleep but I function a lot better after 10 hours sleep. Ha!

Do you have any health goals?

Just to stay fit and focused. I'd like to be fit and able bodied in my golden years.

Do you smoke or have you ever smoked?

No, I would never smoke. I really don't understand why people of my age start smoking knowing the health risks. It's become very unsociable.

Choose one food to bring to a desert island with you?

Chocolate. Lots of it... I never go anywhere without my chocolate!
