DUBLIN fashion festival kicks off today with multiple events taking place over the weekend.

The big event tonight will take place in Brown Thomas from 6pm until 11pm. The Vogue Fashion Party will see MTV presenter Laura Whitmore take to the decks and ladies will get to enjoy makeovers and fashion demonstrations from top designers.

Across town, The White Door will host a special cocktail evening tonight, and guests can enjoy a fashion tutorial for Hello! skinny jeans and a special in-store fashion show will also be taking place.

•THE annual People Of The Year Awards takes place this Saturday at the Citywest hotel.

The popular show, which will be televised on RTE from 9.30pm, will see a host of Irish celebrities attending to support the categories.

Walking the red carpet will be RTE star Grainne Seoige, who is presenting the event itself, Miriam O'Callaghan, Jennifer Maguire, Ray Foley, Larry Gogan, singing sensation Mary Byrne, Fair City's Aoibhinn Garrihy, Mary Kennedy and fashion guru Brendan Courtney.

•APPRENTICE star Breffny Morgan is set to MC StyleXperts Live this Sunday.

The Irish personality will play host to the event in Charleville Park Hotel and Leisure Club, which will see women of all ages and sizes take in fashion and beauty demonstrations for the day.

Free workshops will also take place at the event, showing guests how to shop for their shape and style, while also teaching the ladies how to take care of their skin and use beauty products.

•BEER and food lovers will get the chance to celebrate at the Beer & Food Festival.

Taking place in The White Horse, Ballincollig, Co Cork, from September 14 to 18, the festival is set to attract thousands of guests.

The event will include tasty barbecues, boozy brunches and a beer and curry evening. The festival also plays host to some special live performances.

So far, acts including Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club, DJ Stevie G and The Calvinists are set to perform.
