Fashionistas face 7-month wait for Posh's new frocks

Victoria Beckham fans will have to wait another seven months for the arrival of her newly unveiled autumn/winter "femme fatale" frocks.

The former Spice Girl launched her fourth line of sophisticated dresses this week to her best reviews yet.

But die-hard fans will have to wait until August for the dresses, inspired by 1940s-era comic-strip detectives and old Hollywood seductresses, to hit rails here and even then they'll have to act extremely fast to bag one.

Posh's current spring summer dresses have been a huge hit with Irish shoppers and only two styles remain on sale in Brown Thomas, which stocks the label exclusively.

A Brown Thomas source told the Herald: "The autumn winter collection won't be available until August.

"There is no waiting list at the moment but it might be possible to put some of the items on hold closer to the time. Official details won't be released until nearer its release.

"Victoria Beckham is hugely popular in Ireland. I'm sure it will fly out the door. Right now we have her spring summer line instore, the sales will be on in June and July and then the new season will most likely hit the shops in August."

Ms Beckham's previous collections have been among the fastest selling designs each season.

The British fashion designer, who seems to have mastered her craft in record time, won rave reviews yet again this week for her next season creations at New York Fashion Week.

The mum-of-three (35) has a huge celebrity following including Drew Barrymore, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Lopez and Elle Macpherson.

But Victoria herself will be the first to strut one of her new designs on the red carpet, pinpointing a tan silk off-the-shoulder gown from the collection as her outfit for next month's Oscars. "It looks effortless, it looks chic," she said.

Famous for her striking silhouettes and corset detailing, among the hourglass dresses in the new 26 piece range is a stunning gold metallic number. The range also includes her "sexiest dress yet" -- a strapless blue gown with draped back.
