Behind the brand: Get hip to the power of trilogy

FOUNDED in 2002 by New Zealand sisters Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot, natural skincare brand Trilogy has been an incredible success story.

In eight years the sisters have turned their Australasian business from a small, local operation into an international beauty brand.

It's based around “the trilogy of simplicity, purity and vitality”, and started with a discovery. Sarah had set up a company manufacturing plant ingredients for the natural cosmetic and supplement industries.

Through the business she discovered the beneficial properties rosehip oil offers skin, and came across a way to extract the oil’s purest elements.

Sarah and beauty editor Catherine saw the opportunity to create an entire skincare range around this one special ingredient.

They launched the Trilogy brand with five face-care products; today, the range consists of more than 40 including shampoo, shower gel, lip balm and numerous cleaners and moisturisers. The most recent to be launched, a range for sensitive skin, has been a huge success here.

The company states that it’s committed to “natural ingredients and cultural, ethical and environmental sustainability”.

The brand is also an award winner worldwide, picking up accolades here from the Irish Tatler, Image and U Magazine.
