A spring in your step

If you've been spring cleaning your beauty stash of late, you'll have made room for these fab new skin and body care products that are perfect for transitioning into spring and summer.

This little trio will see you through quick tanned limb exposure, help care for ageing skin, and prep your body for summer.

Sadly, they can't unload the dishwasher or walk the dog, but I suppose you can't have everything.

Its tanning mousse and spray have long been celebrity favourites -- Cat Deeley and Victoria Beckham are die-hard fans -- and St Tropez won the hearts and hard-earned cash of new users and tanning virgins with Everyday, a gradual self-tanner that knocked its competitors into a cocked hat.

Now it is hoping for a repeat of those success stories with its newest wash-off tan. A great quick fix for springtime and last-minute nights out, St Tropez Dark Instant Glow Body Lotion is a deeper version of the original lotion and will suit medium-to-dark skintones or those seeking a truly bronzed look.

Instant Glow is tinted for ease of application and transfer-resistant, staying put until scrubbed off with soap and water, so it's budge-proof as well as commitment-free.

It costs €17.40, and is available at selected department stores, pharmacies, and salons nationwide.

The people who brought us Yes To Carrots (for dry skin), Yes To Cucumbers (for sensitive skin), and Yes To Tomatoes (for combination to oily skin) have now developed Yes to Blueberries, which is a natural anti-ageing line.

The blueberries are rich in antioxidants to fight the damaging free radicals that contribute to skin ageing, while organic cotton thistle aids collagen synthesis and paracrass flower firms and rehydrates weary skin.

Day and Night creams €19.99 each; Serum is from €24.99. Available at Sam McCauley chemists, selected pharmacies nationwide, and www.beautyfeatures.ie.

Okay, so Roger & Gallet Huile Sublime Bois d'Orange isn't brand new -- it landed on Irish shores last summer -- but it is new to me, and I'm not sure how I ever managed without it.

It's a dry oil, which sinks in on application and leaves no greasy residue, and can be used on face, body or hair. The uplifting combination of bergamot, orange, and verbena fragrances ensures it smells like summer in a bottle, and the six nourishing plant oils in the mix, including argan oil, hydrate even the most parched skin without blocking pores. Love it.

It costs €25, and is available at pharmacies nationwide.
