Tomorrow actress and novelist Amy Huberman is expected to beam her widest smile ever when she walks down the aisle to say 'I do' to rugby captain Brian O'Driscoll, in what will undoubtedly be the most lavish social wedding of the year.
Already there's a buzz about the photos -- will Amy wear a dress by an Irish designer, will her friends and family be stylish or frumpy in Lough Rynn Castle Hotel? Will Brian kiss her passionately or demurely after the vows? In fact, you would think tomorrow's nuptials is the only glitzy wedding of the year.
Thanks to the shockwaves caused by the number of celebrity couples breaking up, summer wedding euphoria has to a degree been replaced by the doom and gloom of divorce. Celebrity splits involving Andrea Roche, Vivienne Connolly, and Ruth Griffin have put a damper on what has been the driest and sunniest summer in ages.
Yet look close and you'll see that, yes, there are indeed a lot of loved-up weddings taking place out there. And it is, indeed, a summer of love.
