Favourite things: Club Promoter and DJ Cici Cavanagh

Although I was only seven when she passed away, my grandmother taught me valuable lessons, like which shoe goes on which foot and that it's bad luck to open umbrellas indoors. This I learnt while launching myself from the top of the stairs, Mary Poppins style. Today, I treasure any of her possessions that were passed down to me, such as these antique rings which, although in slight disrepair, I feel bare without.

Photograph of Father This was taken circa 1980, when my Dad was in his early twenties. At the time, he was in a band called Room Service, and certainly looked the part. He's still a working musician today, and I feel I owe my relationship and love of music to him; as I was always surrounded by it as a child.

Watercolour portrait: To be honest, I don't really know what I was doing at New York Fashion Week last year. I'd always wanted to go, and I guess where there's a will, there's a way. Once there, I blagged my way into all sorts of shows and cool parties, and got my portrait painted by fashion designer/illustrator Bruno Grizzo. Check out my 'out there' feather collar . . .

Chanel 2.55 bag An absolute classic, this Chanel bag goes with everything, and has that 'granny glam'.

Collection of headpieces I collect headpieces. There was a phase I went through of wearing them every day. Thinking back I probably looked ridiculous, but this hasn't stopped me buying them. I think, at one stage, I was buying one a week and I have more than 50.

Vintage peasant boots After relentless googling, and three hours lost and being at the wrong Vaperetto stop, I came across what was branded as 'the only vintage shop in Venice'. My friend spotted these boots first, and we were about to fight over them, but they didn't fit her. It was fate!

Camera Obscura photos Doing a BA in Fine Art, I get to explore every area of making art. And one process that really stands out is camera obscura, the first form of photography. From a camera made out of a biscuit tin, I took these images, which are really interesting and spooky looking.

Vintage fur coat This is one of those items every aspiring fashionista should have a version of. I wait for the cold winter days to give me a chance to wear it.

Dolce & Gabbana dress I was 16 and working for the summer in Brown Thomas when I spotted this little black Dolce & Gabbana dress. I saved all my wages to buy it, and I know in 20 years (if it still fits), I'll be pulling it out again and again.

Antique pocket watch This pocket watch symbolises a sense of family, tradition and in some ways heritage; it's made it a long way down to me -- once belonging to my great-grandfather who died in Scotland around 1916 -- and incredibly still works.
