Celebrity Health Check: Anna Daly, TV presenter

DO you have any ailments/health concerns? No, thankfully, I don't. I have just had a baby, however, (six weeks ago) so I'll be concentrating on improving my fitness. Two kids under two should help.

How would you rate your energy levels?

Good. I can tend to get away with little amounts of sleep and function relatively well. Working on a breakfast show (Ireland AM) helps as I'm very familiar with getting up at what most people would consider the middle of the night.

Do you get your five a day?

I have great intentions but I hit and miss.

How would you rate your stress levels?

I'm learning not to sweat the small stuff so they're not bad. I could be a little more laid back.

How's your sleep?

A little like the five a day, hit and miss. I could sleep almost anywhere so I'm very lucky like that, but, with a six-week-old baby at home, there's no routine established yet.

Do you take vitamins/supplements?

Throughout my pregnancy I took Pregnacare multivitamins and now I've recently started taking Cleanmarine Krill Oil which is an Omega 3 supplement that I'm told works wonders on improving skin, hair and nails.

Do you exercise?

Yes. I love to get out walking so I try to get a good long walk in every day.

Do you cook from scratch?

Honestly, rarely. Time is never on my side.

How many alcoholic beverages would you consume in a week?

Very little, if any, these days.

What would you find hard to give up?

Coffee and chocolate. My two vices, I have very little willpower when it comes to either.

Do you have any health goals?

Boost my fitness, lose the baby weight sensibly, tone up and eat more fruit and veg. Nothing much then.

What I ate today:

Breakfast: Granola, coffee, banana.

Lunch: Chicken & salad sandwich on wholemeal bread.

Dinner: Beef & veg stir fry with basmati rice.

Snacks: Biscuits with tea

Beverages: Coffee x 2, 1 tea, water throughout the day, 1 can of diet coke.

Elsa's Verdict Anna, a quick and easy way to help get your five a day would be to add some berry fruits to your granola in the morning such as blueberries or strawberries. Also, instead of the granola, you might consider choosing a sugar-free muesli which contains oats, nuts & seeds.
