25pc of women expect pay rise

Only one-in-four women workers is confident of receiving a pay rise over the next year, a new study has shown.

The figure is 3pc lower than earlier this year, and compares with 40pc of men expecting a higher salary.

The survey of 2,000 adults for jobs site Glassdoor also showed that women were less likely than men to leave a job because of low pay.

Jon Ingham of Glassdoor said: "Salaries are starting to move up but women risk getting left behind."
