Lee urges EU reform
LEADING Irish solicitor Philip Lee has called on the Government to rethink its approach to EU affairs at the Public Affairs Ireland and European Movement Ireland conference today.
Mr Lee believes the Government must change its stance on having 27 voting European Commissioners and will call on the Government to support greater integration of EU member states.
"Ireland will take on the presidency of the EU at the beginning of 2013," he said. "The presidency offers Ireland a good opportunity to put its stamp on future structures and legislative processes in Europe."
