Laura makes debut as winter Love Island kicks off
Love Island host Laura Whitmore
Laura Whitmore made her much anticipated debut as the host of Love Island last night as series six got under way in South Africa.
The Bray native posted a picture of herself in advance of the winter season of the hit show beside a 4x4, saying: "but first has anyone seen my car keys?"
Last night's show saw the singletons enter the villa and prepare for their first ever coupling up.
The girls - Shaughna, Sophie, Leanne, Siannise and Paige - started getting to know each other.
Amazing
Laura then gathered the girls around the famous fire pit saying: "Shall we have a little chat? Come on."
Laura says to Siannise that South Africa is a little bit different to her hometown Bristol, to which she says: "It's completely different, it's amazing."
Asked what she's looking for, Paige says: "It sounds so cliche, tall dark and handsome."
On whether she's ever been in love, Leanne admitted: "No never, not even a little bit. I've got a phobia, but I'm here to cure it."
Sophie said of being single: "I feel like I might be a tiny bit too picky."
Asked if she's in the Villa for love or a good time, Shaughna says: "Love. I'm a hopeless romantic."
Laura then broke the news that it was time to meet the boys, saying: "Well I don't know about you ladies, but I think it's time we meet the boys. Come with me."
Nas, Mike, Ollie, Connor and Callum then made their entrance.
