Larkin seeing double

ATHLETICS: Larkin Community College reached new heights to retain the Hannigan and Robinson Cups at last Friday's CDVEC SCC Track and Field Championship inMorton Stadium, Santry.

Larkin dominated the junior and intermediate levels while Kylemore College's girls' team and Coláiste Dhúlaigh's boys won the minor shield titles.

The 'Athlete of the Meet' were awarded to Megan Preston of Dhúlaigh and Coláiste Eoin's Nicholas Melia with the Fingallian AC athlete winning the intermediate 400 metre final.


Larkin's Roslyn O'Mahony (minor), Sinead Maguire (junior) and Kaji Otemolu (intermediate) topped the podium in the 100 metres finals.

Tiffney Heary and Clara Hilliard also excelled on the track with Nicu Flore, Malcolm Chikarakate and Jamal Traore unstoppable at every level of the boys long jump.

Further titles went to Klyemore College's Sean Lawlor and Jordan Curtis, Youthreach's Chris Manby Byrne, Sara McCabe of Presentation Terenure and Dhúlaigh's Michael Tyrrell, Andrew McCabe and Anton Banagan.
