Kylemore hit hat-trick

The ESB Sportsco arena in Ringsend provided the perfect setting for Kylemore to showcase their talent around the table with the minor, junior and intermediate teams booking their places in the finals after successfully progressing from the group stage.

With the junior and intermediate titles firmly under their belts, all eyes were on the minor finale with Larkin Community College hoping to deny Kylemore's treble quest.

Michael Devitt got the better of Larkin's Gerald Black (11-7, 11-6) in the opening game.

Larkin bounced back with Calum McGovern's excellent two set win (11-1, 11-8) against Dylan O'Driscoll.

Kylemore's Luke Coogan and Jordan Graham then faced off in the deciding game with Coogan winning the opening set 11-7.

Graham took the second set 13-11 with tensions growing going into the final set. Coogan raced into a 9-4 lead before Graham fought back to 7-9, but Coogan held out to claim Kylemore's third title of the day.

In the junior final, Kylemore were pushed all the way by Marino College with Brad Herbert beating Adrian Creto by two sets to one (11-9, 4-11, 11-5) in the deciding game.

Marino had got the perfect start with Alex Giurgilav's win against Jordan Cummins. Kylemore's Charlie Murray hit back with a strong showing in his 11-4, 11-2 win over Alex Musat prior to Herbert's win.

Kylemore's intermediate team of Patrick Wynne, Aaron Mulvaney and Michael Larkin bounced back in the final against Plunket College, thanks to wins from Mulvaney against Louis Weldon and Larkin over Stephen O'Sullivan.

Ryan Fairhurst had beaten Wynne in the opening game but Kylemore weren't to be denied their treble-winning success.
