Jurgen Klopp is excited about the prospect of facing his old foes Bayern Munich in the Champions League despite his poor record against them.

The Reds will need to outwit Bayern to try and better last season's status as beaten finalists, Klopp with just nine wins from his 29 past battles with the Bavarian club.

"It's not that anybody thought 'thank God it's Liverpool', so we don't think 'thank God it's Bayern'. It's a tough one, but that's how it should be," says Klopp.

"It's the last-16 of the Champions League so there are only tough teams in and I'm really excited about it."

Also in the round of 16, Spurs face Borussia Dortmund while Manchester City will be pleased with their pairing, against Schalke. In the Europa League, Valencia stand between Celtic and progress to the quarter-finals.
