Keogh strike downs old club Wolves

IRISH international Andy Keogh came back to haunt his former employers as Millwall beat Wolves 1-0 at Molineux.

Keogh struck with a 78th-minute winner in the 300th league appearance of his career to condemn Wolves, who had Stephen Ward and Kevin Doyle in their starting lineup, to their sixth defeat in nine games.

Daryl Murphy was among the goals as Ipswich continued their revival under Mick McCarthy with a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest at Portman Road.

McCarthy was determined to remain grounded after the match but challenged his players to reproduce the same level of performance in the coming weeks as they try to avoid a relegation dogfight.

"Unless I've woken up and it's May 4, I'm not bothered," McCarthy said, referring to his side climbing out of the bottom three.

"We'll all get a kick from seeing it but we've got tough games coming up, so we've got to maintain that level of performance and make sure we stay out of it.

"There's no time for patting each other on the back or stroking each other's egos."

Mark Yeates rounded off a facile 4-1 victory with a goal for Gianfranco Zola's Watford away to Sheffield Wednesday.

The result sees Watford climb to within touching distance of the play-off places.
