Keira a no-show for film fleadh premiere
THERE was disappointment for movie fans when A-lister Keira Knightley did not attend the opening night of the Galway Film Fleadh.
In the lead-up to this year's festival, it was revealed that Oscar-nominee Knightley was set to walk the red carpet at a special screening of her latest movie, Begin Again.
Organisers were in talks with the 29-year-old's agent, as well as the management team for her castmate Adam Levine, to get them to turn out at the town hall for the screening of the John Carney production.
However, due to Knightley's schedule they were unable to make a flying visit.
Begin Again was originally entitled Can A Song Save Your Life, but underwent a re-branding after Harvey Weinstein's production company snapped up the distribution rights after it screened at last year's Sundance Film Festival.
Although Knightley and Levine were nowhere to be seen, plenty of well-known names have confirmed they will make an appearance at the fleadh over the coming days.
Leading the way is Victoria Smurfit, whose film Among Ravens will be shown to audiences tomorrow. Academy Award winner Brenda Fricker will also attend, as will Transformers heart-throb Jack Reynor (inset) and Love/Hate's Peter Coonan.
