Keane aiming to find his edge in Hamburg meeting
After his disappointing 20th at last weekend's European Triathlon Championships in Geneva, Bryan Keane is in Hamburg German this weekend for the seventh round of the World Triathlon Series. Also competing is Olympian Aileen Reid. The pair then travel for Rio for the Olympic test event on August 1
Keane will hope to improve on last weekend, when a poor swim meant that he missed the lead bunch for the cycle.
Although he produced one of the fastest runs of the day, his overall time was 1:57:27 was not enough for the top ten. In the junior sprint distance race, 16-year-old James Edgar finished 22nd in a time of 58:55.
Paratriathletes Garett Turbett and Aidan McGlynn were also in action, with Turbett fifth in his category and McGlynn tenth - and just a minute off a place in the top five - in his class.
At home, Sligo's Lissadell House hosts the third round Triathlon Ireland Super Series tomorrow. Chris Mintern winner of round 1 in Athy, leads the entry of over 300 for the 1500m sea swim, 41km cycle and 10km run.
