Just get us there on time

THE issue of green lights being placed on 'Irish' taxis has increased perceptions of racism within the industry. At the very least the lights smack of protectionism on the part of 'native' drivers.

But taxi customers are not interested in where their driver comes from, as long as the driver is qualified and gets them to their destination quickly and safely.

The onus is on the National Transport Authority to ensure this is the case.
