Chelsea boss to sign new deal at Stamford Bridge which will see him stay at helm until 2019

JOSE Mourinho is ready to build a dynasty at Stamford Bridge and extend his current deal as Chelsea boss beyond 2019.

Reports today claim that Mourinho will sign a new four-year deal when the season is finished which will allow him to put the building blocks in place for a golden era to rival Alex Ferguson.

Widespread speculation suggested that he was distraught when he didn't receive a call from Old Trafford after Scot's departure in May 2013 and could only look on while his plum job went to David Moyes.

Although he has never admitted it, Mourinho's desire to follow in Ferguson's footsteps after a stormy spell at Real Madrid was a key ambition.

But with Chelsea flying high at the top of the Premier League, still involved in Champions League football and aiming or the club's first League Cup win in eight years when they take on Spurs at Wembley on March 1, Mourinho has clearly decided that the time is right to lock himself in for the longer haul.

Mourinho returned to the club in June 2013 for a second run after settling his differences with Roman Abramovich and signed a four-year deal.

Negotiations have yet to begin in earnest but it is thought that Mourinho favours a deal which would give five more years to chase Ferguson's remarkable trophy haul.

With two years remaining on his current contract, club officials want to address the issue as soon as the season ends and it is expected that talks will take place in early June.
