Bruton meets MBNA chiefs over job fears

JOBS Minister Richard Bruton (right) is meeting with senior executives at Bank of America's world headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina to discuss MBNA.

The bank's credit card business, which has a base in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, is up for sale and there are fears for the 750 employees here.

Mr Bruton is expected to meet Bank of America's Irish-American president and CEO Brian Moynihan.

Moody's said the cut of its main rating for Bank of America Corporation's holding company, to Baa1 from A2, did not suggest that the bank's credit quality was weakening.
