FORMER ST Patrick's Athletic man Jake Carroll will take a step towards regaining fitness- and place in the Huddersfield Town side - later today when he returns from injury.
Carroll, 23, has been sidelined since he picked up a knee injury while on loan to SPL side Partick Thistle in December.
But he's due to play for Huddersfield's U21 side against Sheffield Wednesday today and he hopes to force his way into contention with Chris Powell's Terrier side for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, his former club ST Pats have been given a bye into the next round of the EA Sports Cup. Cork City, Waterford United, Dundalk, St Patrick's Athletic, Shamrock Rovers, Longford Town, Derry City and Cockhill Celtic al go straight into the second round.
