Irish hope their Commercial power will strengthen hand
STRATHCLYDE Park in Scotland is the venue for today's Home International Rowing Regatta with senior and junior teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in action.
LINING
Among those lining out for Ireland are a number of rowers from the Commercial club in Islandsbridge - coxless pair Neil Gahan and Colm Dowling, Fionnan Groome in the quad and Gavin Connolly who is cox for both the eight and the four.
There's also Anne O'Leary and Edel Garry in the women's coxed four. They also go in the eight, along with Martina Bracken and cox Shauna Fitz.
UCD is represented by Max Murphy and Niall Farrell who are selected for the eight and also for the coxless four, where they are teamed up with Ken McCarthy and Murray Connolly from Skibbereen.
Carlow's Luke Keating goes in the men's single scull and is also selected for the quad.
Meanwhile the finals at the U23 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria take place today and tomorrow.
