Irish cook is back in new Jamie show

IRISH dinner-lady Nora Sands is cooking up a starring role in celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's new TV series.

Nora, originally from Co Kilkenny, stood out as the straight-talking cook in an English comprehensive school which featured in Jamie's School Dinners several years ago.

She went on to produce her own cookery book and appear on TV. Jamie wanted Nora for his latest series called Jamie's Dream School.

Jamie selected 20 children who have dropped out of school -- and he aims to fire up their passion for learning. The Wire actor Dominic West has signed up to teach drama along with actor Simon Callow, while Professor Robert Winston teaches science and Rolf Harris heads up the art department. And Nora will be doing what she does best, serving healthy nosh.
