A TEENAGE thief who stole a woman's tablet computer has been given an eight-month suspended sentence.

Napoleon Tache (18) maintained he was "easily led", but a judge said he believed he was "very intelligent".

Judge David McHugh suspended the sentence for two years at Blanchardstown District Court.

Tache - of Willows Green, Clonsilla - pleaded guilty to stealing a tablet worth €250 at a McDonalds in Cork on March 19 last. He also admitted stealing €65 of perfume in Dublin on February 25, 2014 and public drunkenness in Lucan on April 8 this year.
