I'm staying with RTE, insists Jen after flood of TV offers from UK

It may not be lighting up the ratings here, but One Night Stand host Jennifer Maguire has revealed how her first solo presenting role has got her noticed across the water.

The bubbly brunette told the Diary that offers have been flooding in from UK-based TV stations since the dating show made its debut on RTE recently.

However, Jennifer has no intention of quitting these shores just yet and has decided to focus on her blossoming career with the national broadcaster.

"There have been lots of things thrown at me recently. It's been a bit manic," she told the Diary when asked about pursuing work in London.

"Of course I would never say never to anything but I'm kind of really focused on carving out a career here for now.

"You just never know the way things are. There are a lot of talented presenters out there but I'm staying put for the moment.

"One Night Stand seems to be going down well so hopefully it will be back for another series and I'm very busy with Republic Of Telly as well.

"I've got two businesses here as well. And of course Lau [her boyfriend] has just moved over here," she added.

Jennifer (29) explained how she and Lau Zamparelli, her other half of four years, are more loved up than ever since he made the big move to Dublin and have been enjoying lots of cosy nights in together.

The chatty TV star -- who got her first break on the UK version of The Apprentice -- and her hunky Italian beau are set to host Christmas dinner at their new home in the capital this year and Jen says she is looking forward to showing off her cooking skills.

relaxing

According to the beauty salon owner: "This is actually my first year staying at home, I usually go to New York for a few days or somewhere like that.

"I'm taking a full two weeks off work so I'm looking forward to relaxing. We're going to cook Christmas dinner at our house for a change.

"Lau has just come over and he's doing quite well workwise. He has a few auditions coming up. It's all going really well and we're getting on great," she said.

And while Jennifer insists that she and her actor boyfriend are in no rush down the aisle, the Baldoyle native admits that she would definitely like to start a family in the not too distant future.

"I'd love to corner him and have him give me a baby," Jennifer laughed. "We're both just too busy with work right now.

"It's definitely something that's on the cards down the line. I'm working so hard now because I do want to start a family. That's one of the reasons, so that I can take a step back when I do have children and spend time with them.

"Lau really wants to get a dog now but I won't let him because he's away for work a lot and it would be me left looking after it," she added.
