I'll make it to top of Kilimanjaro, vows Roz as pals pull out

TOP model Roz Purcell is determined to make it to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro despite her famous pals dropping out of the climb.

Former Miss Universe Ireland Roz is to continue with the new documentary Catwalk To Kilimanjaro after Fade Street star Louise Johnston and model Georgia Salpa pulled out of the charity task.

Speaking to the Diary, Roz (21) says she won't be letting the Make-A-Wish foundation down and insists she will make it to the top of the mountain.

"I just came back from Dubai on Monday night so I had no idea what was going on. I only found out yesterday that Louise and Georgia had dropped out. Everyone is dropping like flies but I don't really care, I still want to go.

"I'm not going all the way to Tanzania to not get to the top of the mountain, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I know I will make it the whole way," she said.

And even though Georgia caused controversy this week when she announced she would not be taking part, due to the fact that she didn't get enough time to work out, Roz says that the climb has nothing to do with your fitness level.

Busiest

"A few of my friends climbed Kilimanjaro and they definitely never went to the gym. They all got up to the top fine. But out of all of us Georgia is the busiest one. It's okay that I couldn't get to training all the time because I'm fit anyway but Georgia isn't.

"I think she will do it at another time in her life but she thinks it's not the right time to do it," she said.

Georgia's flatmate Daniella Moyles (22) has defended her pal for opting out at the last minute.

Daniella, who flies out today for the gruelling challenge, leapt to support the half-Greek model after she came under fire for pulling out of the trip.

"I live with her so obviously I had an idea about what was going on and knew she might not be able to do it," she said.

"She did really try as it's for charity and she wanted to fit it around her schedule.

"I'm sure organisers are disappointed but she's on the front of every newspaper at the moment, anyone can see how busy she is. I'm disappointed myself - she was meant to be sharing the tent with me.

"Her heart's in the right place but she genuinely just couldn't fit it in."

Daniella added how there's also no chance of Georgia reconciling with her womanising ex boyfriend Calum Best, either, after reports of him getting cosy with Donna Air.

The model went on to say how it was "hard for any girl" to learn about her other half's antics in a newspaper. "The media saw it play out just like she did," she said.
