EUROVISION singer Linda Martin has laughed off reports that she was once married to ex-EastEnders star Larry Lamb and was mum to his hunky son George.

She said it was a case of "mistaken identity" after her name was linked in a UK magazine with the father of TV heart-throb and former Big Brother's Little Brother host George.

It was claimed in Closer magazine that Larry's first wife was: "Irish TV presenter and singer Linda Martin, who he married aged 32."

But Linda (57) said there was never any secret marriage between herself and the popular star, who played Archie Mitchell in EastEnders and Mick in Gavin And Stacey.

"Of course not. His first wife must have been called Linda Martin as well and the journalist googled it and came up with me," she said.

"I've been taking loads of calls on it, from relatives and everything, I should imagine he's been getting the same thing. I was laughing my head off. I don't even know him, I've never even met him but I would know his face from EastEnders.

"The funny thing is, I looked up photos of his son George afterwards and he looks very much like a Martin with the dark skin and eyes. But, no, it's just a case of mistaken identity."

Meanwhile, she has revealed her fears for her niece Megan Scott (23) after she was caught up in the Japan earthquake.

"She was on a train in Tokyo when the earthquake happened and she said it was just devastating," said Linda.
