husband remanded on wife-murder charge
A man accused of murdering his wife, who was found beaten to death in her Co Louth home, has been further remanded in custody.
Mother-of-three Jacqueline McDonagh (34), was found dead in her home in College Manor, Hoeys Lane, Dundalk, on August 29.
A postmortem examination found that she died after sustaining multiple injuries.
Her husband, Michael McDonagh, of College Manor, Dundalk, was arrested on August 30.
The following day he was brought before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court and charged with the murder of his wife.
Detective Garda Joe Ryan said after he was cautioned, McDonagh replied: "I didn't mean to kill her, I'm sorry."
He was granted bail terms in the High Court on September 24 but has not yet taken it up.
The case was adjourned until November 30.
