Holly Carpenter: Never work with children or animals? No one told me!

SO my week got off to an eventful start with a visit to Navan town.
They say that you should never work with animals or children and for this particular photo-shoot, my fellow models were none other than a goat, a turkey and two lovely youngsters.
I was launching the new Christmas market in Navan and it looks great and really got me in the festive mood.
It’s going to have loads of food stalls, music and a little petting farm for families to visit during the Christmas season.
Now, I love animals, but this particular turkey that I was shooting with was actually huge and pretty scary – there was a lot of eating in him. I didn’t feel so guilty about my upcoming Christmas dinner after it pecked me and basically used my shoe as a toilet – and they say that modelling’s a glamorous job!
One of my favourite parts of my job is getting to work in some seriously beautiful and glamorous locations. I had the pleasure of filming Xpose in the presidential suite of the Powerscourt Hotel on Wednesday.
The staff are always so lovely and there’s always hot coffee and freshly made pastries waiting for us in the kitchen. It was all baby talk with the other model Sarah McGovern as well as TV3’s Aisling O’Loughlin as we got ready to film. Aisling has such a gorgeous neat bump and I love how she manages to maintain an edgy and fashionable look through her maternity style.
Earlier in the week, I headed to the Marker Hotel with my mum and dad to try out their ‘Le Drunch’ menu. I’ve heard so many people raving about the food and the atmosphere at the Marker and it did not disappoint. They had a DJ playing cool 80s’ music and a very diverse crowd of stylish ladies who lunch, young couples and families.
The menu has a special section full of healthy food like the nutri-burger in a gluten free bun served with baked sweet potato fries which I opted for.
After a full week of going to the gym, I felt like I deserved a little treat and I decided to try out ‘The Marker Dream’ cocktail which is made up of Beefeater Gin, Chambord, Elderflower, Grapes and Lime Juice – it was delicious!
I may have had a few glasses of wine with brunch, but I was back in the gym the next day to sweat my sins away!
