High-flying Eagles eyeing Marian scalp3Basketball

This weekend, the battle continues in the Nivea For Men's SuperLeague as teams look to secure a top-four position to contend for the Champions Trophy later in March.

Meanwhile, for the top of the table teams, the chase for the regular season league title lingers.

UL Eagles are currently perched on top and in order to retain their regular season title, they must win the remainder of their games.

Tomorrow will see them take on UCD Marian, a rematch of their National Cup semi-final.

Although the Limerick lads saw them off in their last encounter, a revived Marian will enter the game with confidence as they come off three wins on the bounce.

Hot on the Eagles' heels are rivals UCC Demons. In order for the Cork side to keep their regular league title dreams alive they need to win the rest of their games and hope Eagles drop a game or two.

This weekend will see them take on Moycullen. The Galway side along with Dublin's DCU Saints and Killester will all fight for the fourth spot over the coming weeks as they look to chase the Champions Trophy.

Moycullen's second game of the weekend will see them take on DCU Saints in Galway the following day. So far this season, both sides have beaten each other once.

Pivotal

The result of this clash will prove pivotal for both as they currently sit neck-and-neck in the table.

Finally, in a game that will have no real consequence for either team, Dublin Inter travel to Cork to take on National Cup champions, Bord Gáis Neptune.

Neptune, who have already secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy, will be eager to put out a good performance and return to winning ways after their defeat by Cork rivals, Demons, last weekend.

In the Nivea Women's SuperLeague, the second last round of league fixtures will commence. For the ladies, play-offs will decide the winner, so the hunt for home court advantage will be well and truly underway.

Ulster Rockets travel back to Cork to take on a Team Montenotte Hotel Cork who suffered at the hands of the Huskies last weekend, while Liffey Celtics prepare for WIT Wildcats.

Elsewhere, Meteors travel over to the northside to face DCU Mercy as Singleton SuperValu Brunell welcome Killester to the Parochial Hall in Cork.
