Hamstring a huge worry for O’Shea

ALEX Ferguson and Giovanni Trapattoni will both offer up heartfelt prayers for the health of John O'Shea over the next 48 hours.

A hamstring pull sustained after just 35 minutes of Manchester United's narrow Champions League win over Marseille last night means he is unlikely to play for at least two weeks.

Ferguson is struggling to find fit defenders and saw Rafael da Silva also laid low by a hamstring strain against Marseille to add to an injury list which already includes Nemanaja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans.

"If we can get through the Bolton game, we've then got two weeks during the international break to get some of them patched up." said Ferguson."If you look at the games we've had, it's a big demand on players."

Trapattoni's defensive problems have also become acute, with Richard Dunne recovering from a shoulder injury and a big doubt for Ireland's Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia in ten days time.
