Glorious Gaels
dublin u15hc 'E' final
It was a wonderful day for Trinity Gaels as they eked out a narrow 1-4 to 0-6 win over a brave Wild Geese in their Dublin U15 'D' Hurling Championship final on Blakestown Road last Sunday morning.
The Donaghmede outfit looked to be struggling at the break as they trailed by 0-3 to 0-0 but they played their way back into contention thanks to the efforts of the outstanding Ryan O'Donnell.
The game remained in the balance with Wild Geese showing superbly through the displays of Ben O'Brien, Scott Ennis and Liam Monks and they kept their noses in front thanks to a number of inspired scores by Player of the Game David Sammon and another critical point from Cian Roberts.
However, with O'Donnell to the fore, Trinity began to create chances and they added scores through Jamie Bishop and Graham O'Reilly as the contest evolved.
With Conor Kelly, who showed great application in missing a trip away to play in the final, starring in defence, Gaels began to reel in their opponents with Bishop scoring the all-important goal and despite Sammon replying for the Oldtown club, it proved too late to deny Gaels a tremendous victory by the final whistle.
